The EDGAR global air traffic maps consists of four sets of maps on 1x1 degreed grid for 19 altitude bands of 1 km, thus ranging from 0 - 19 km altitude above the earth's surface, for emissions for NOx, CO, VOC and CO2. The VOC map acutually refers to all emitted unburned hydrocarbons, which we assume to be NMVOC, thus neglecting methane and other non-VOC substances. The spatial distribution is provided by NASA (1993).
