Guide to 'Societal developments by target sector' section

This section contains information about added value for the economy, energy use and water consumption for these target sectors.

Composition of target sectors

The page 'Composition of target sectors in Dutch environment policy' provides a table with a breakdown of the target sectors distinguished by the environment policy. This target sector classification is the basis for the information presented by the Environmental Data Compendium about the target sectors of the environment policy.
The registration of environmental data per target sector takes place on the basis of the branches of industry used in the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) of Statistics Netherlands (CBS, 1992). However, this classification does not always overlap fully with the target sector classification used in the policy. When there are discrepancies, this is stated explicitly with the relevant data.
