Composition of Consumers target sector


The Consumers target sector comprises all consumers in the Netherlands. The consumers have not been classified in the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC). Consumers and households are deemed to be the same thing.

Concepts and definitions, consumption


Individual consumption The use of goods and services produced in, or imported to, the Netherlands other than for manufacturing purposes. Items which cannot be counted as produced or imported cannot, by definition, be included under consumption (such as domestic tasks and DIY activities). Actual consumer spending includes institutional households (such as non-profit institutions on behalf of households).
Actual individual consumption (domestic)Consumption by all residents of the Netherlands.
Actual individual consumption (national)
Consumption by Dutch nationals (i.e. including consumption by Dutch nationals in households abroad and excluding consumption by non-Dutch nationals in the Netherlands).
