Within the target sector, road traffic generates most environmental pressure, most of which consists of emissions of pollutants (mainly carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds and particulate matter). Traffic and transport also contribute to noise and odour nuisance.
