Guidance Agrarian nature conservation organisations

Index section Agrarian nature conservation organisations

Introduction

Agrarian nature conservation organisations are partnerships, environmental cooperatives or consultative bodies that focus on protecting and developing agrarian nature management areas and the agrarian landscape. The number of associations is growing and an increasing number of farmers are becoming involved in agrarian nature management. Most of the associations are located in the north and west of the country or in the Achterhoek region. The associations are involved in a wide range of different types of nature management and enter into agreements in this regard with the state and other bodies. Dairy farming is overrepresented, one of the reasons being that agrarian nature management can be easily incorporated into dairy farming operations.
